The main features to consider in a folding bicycle are: easiness and quickness in folding, dimensions when folded., riding comfort, sturdiness and stiffness, equipment, weight and, of course, price.

The easiness and quickness for folding the bicycle DI BLASI mod. R22 are unmatched: thanks to a frame shaped as an articulated quadrilateral, 3 simple steps and not more than 4 seconds are sufficient to fold or to unfold it, as there are no devices to be screwed or unscrewed.

The bicycle mod. R22 is characterised by innovative solutions (patented), such as the automatic folding of the front fork and the automatic folding of the handle bars, which allow to reduce the dimensions when folded to 68 x 64 x 21 cm, corresponding to a volume of only 91,4 litres. These dimensions make this bicycle, when folded, as one of the smallest 20" folding bicycles.

When unfolded the bicycle has a wheelbase of 100,5 cm . The saddle is adjustable in 4 positions, from a minimum of 87 cm to a maximum of 101 cm from the ground. These features allow an excellent ride stability and comfort.

Another innovative solution introduced in the mod. R22 is the use of a variety of materials: to give to the bicycle the maximum rigidity with minimum weight, some components of the frame are made of high tensile steel, other components of polyamide reinforced with glass fibers, other components of light alloys, depending on the stress to which each of them is subject.

The sturdiness of the bicycle mod. R22 arises also from that the main frame is made in one piece (i.e. it has not a central hinge like the usual folding bicycles) and from that the seat is held by two posts (instead that by one as in the traditional bicycles).

The bicycle is easy to carry also when it is folded because it is equipped with an handle for trailing it on the small wheels fitted on the rear rack.

It fits wheels with 20" (48 cm) diameter tyres; it is equipped with a speed change made of a 7 speed derailleur; with a large rear carrier, folding pedals, front & rear lights powered by dynamo, front & rear brakes, stand, bell, etc.

The weight, including all these equipments, is only 13,4 kg and therefore it is one of the lightest folding bicycles. As a matter of fact, the considerations about the weight of a folding bicycle cannot be held separate from those about sturdiness and stiffness of the frame as well as from those about the folding system.

The bicycle mod. R22 is available in two versions:

• The version R22P where the steel components of the frame are made of high tensile carbon steel painted with polyester powders.

• The version R22S where the steel components of the frame are made of stainless steel (AISI 304). Also bolts and nuts are made of stainless steel. Therefore this version is most suitable for use in a seaside environment.

Therefore, when considering its features, it is possible to state that the bicycle mod. R22 offers a very competitive ratio quality / price and that it is the perfect bicycle to be used in conjunction with train, car, camper, boat, etc. for long distance rides.
